So far, it's been quiet and low-key. Of course, I haven't left the house or even gotten out of around-the-house clothes. What did I manage to do today? Eat. Check my usual online haunts. Play Animal Crossing for the first time in 11 months (which meant I had to spend an hour weeding and killing roaches). Play Ribbit King. Visit Animal Crossing site and bemoan the fact that I don't have Nintendo DS, 'cause I only have a GBA and Animal Crossing isn't made for GBA. Bemoan the fact that Sim City 4 is only available for the PC and Death, Jr. is only available for the PSP. Not that I'm sure I'd like Death Jr., but it's got cute graphics. Wonder yet again why I find 99.99999999% of the games out there so uninteresting. Sure, I'll watch the Resident Evil movies, but play the game? I don't think so. I can't even make it through Harry Potter and Lemony Snicket without getting bored, and those are way more my style than Blood Rayne or Gun.
And while I'm grumping about lack of fun video games, let me grump about the lack of non-cavernous, non-luggage-like messenger/urban bags for the practical yet stylish commuter. They don't exist. Well, Chrome has a few I like. But that's about it. Clearly, I need to become a bag designer.
Anyway, where was I? Oh, yes. After a few hours of games, we had some of the Mythbusters marathon and then got sucked into VH1's I Love the 90s (1995 - 1999). Throw in dinner (lamb and salad) and cake, and that's pretty much what an exciting day I had!
Last night, S came over and we had salmon, roasted potatos, green beans, and homemade apple pie and Amphora bakery Four-Chocolate Terrine cake. Yum. Then we watched something. I can't remember what. S fell asleep a few times and around midnight we all said whee. Happy New Year. And then S went home. After our neighbors decided to light fireworks about 5 minutes after midnight.
We've all had busy years/holidays and I guess I'm just feeling a bit blah because of this bug.
I wish this stomach bug would shake free, though. Every single meal I eat is followed by bloating and an oogly-feeling stomach. Nothing major, but it's obvious that the bug is lingering. Sweetie feels the same way, a bit oogly every now and then. But he's lucky, it's not after every single meal, like me.
At least the broken blood vessel in my eye is being absorbed much faster than I thought it would. Monday through Wednesday, it looked like my eye was bleeding. Today, not so much.
Tomorrow, we have tentative plans to eat pizza with St, L and K. I wonder if that's still on?
So this is the plan for the rest of the evening...
A glass of Tuaca. Probably a little more tv. Sleep.
Battlestar Galactica starts Friday. The same night that the Bauhaus interview on Fuse is repeated. In other tv musings (in which you are all so fascinated), I think I'm going to tune in to Ice Skating with the Stars. I know, it's hard to believe, but I need a good laugh. I guess I'd better figure out when that starts.
