Phone fun

I just upgraded from the Nokia 3650 to the Nokia 3220. Those of you who know me, know that I have always sought out flashing batteries for my cell phones. They were always a pain, though, because they never lasted very long. Well, I need search no more. This one has them as part of the design (alas, no blue or purple...yet). Plus, there's the ability to synch the phone with a PC (sadly, no Mac software) for simple PDA functions (which I want for work) and smart cases, which allow one to send wave messages or play certain games just by moving the phone. You know, if I should ever want to. That function seems cool yet the reviews aren't glowing, so maybe I'll skip buying that case. I have always loved wave messaging, though.

Of course, it has a simple camera. I can't do without one anymore.

What I lost from the old phone was the ability to use an MMC memory card (almost completely full with images), infrared and bluetooth. Since I only used the IR once (to import contacts from my Palm) and the bluetooth never (I think I set it up to transfer but never did), I don't feel the loss. Of course, if we EVER get sweetie's car back from the body shop (we're going on 4-1/2 months!), we could have used the bluetooth in his car. But given that we don't drive and talk on the phone much (or, rather, I don't talk on the phone much while he's driving), it's not a big deal.

There are questions I have about SIM cards, though, that I just don't understand. I assume that we can switch out the cards between phones? There's some stuff on the old phone that I wouldn't mind transferring. If I do, does that mean I have to "activate" each phone when I do that, or does it take place automatically? And do SIM cards come in different sizes or are they all one size fits all? I understand the idea of the cards, but how do they really work?

Ok, that's enough for now. I just recorded a clip from "Daft Punk is playing at my house" for my ring tone. I'm such a nerd.
