1. I seem to have no recollection of what I did with a pile of papers that was once on my desk. No matter where I check, I cannot seem to find them. There is also no evidence in my brain that I ever did anything with them and now they're gone. In the pile, unfortunately were:
2. I grabbed my Lemon Sugar perfume by the cap the other day and the jar fell into the toilet. Not only did it fall into the toilet and cause a big splash, but the jar broke in half and emptied out. The toilet water sure smelled good but I was sad.
3. I can't let it go. I'm still really mad at myself for losing that pile of stuff. The only thing I can think of is that it accidentally fell into the rubbish and I didn't notice. It's possible. I'm guessing it had to have happened because I rarely misplace things. Rarely. It's even rarer that I actually lose things. I can usually retrace my steps and figure out where I lost things and find them - even in parking lots in the dark, I've had good luck. But this...I can't even remember anything about it. Nothing. The last thing I remember was moving everything off my desk so I could install computer memory and then putting everything back. I swear it was there. Once. After that, I can't recall anything.
4. I'm also still pretty mad that I dropped my perfume in the toilet. I feel like I've just wasted a lot of money between losing the refund receipt, the cards and the perfume (I hadn't had it very long at all).
5. I made sweetie kill a non-poisonous small snake today. It was right by my shoe and startled me (I thought it was a worm at first, until I saw the tail). We deliberated over whether it was poisonous and watched it for awhile (I'd never seen a snake in the wild before) but in the end decided to kill it in case it turned out to be a problem. Poor thing. I felt terrible. I think it was a Northern Brown snake. Completely harmless. So I caused the death of something that wouldn't have harmed anything.
So this weekend I'm a forgetful, fumble-fingered killer. Yep, that's me.
At least the day-long event went well on Saturday although I was exhausted afterwards (10:30 am to 9 pm will do that) and fell asleep within an hour after getting back home. Sweetie was exhausted as well, since I'd ordered 7 cubic yards of hardwood bark mulch and it arrived on Saturday, which left him to mulch the heck out of everything by himself. He's a super sweetie for doing that! We finished off the mulch pile today - it took about 11 more wheelbarrows and we still had to buy two 36 gallon tubs to store the rest (plus there's another wheelbarrow full). But the plants should be set for the winter!
Yesterday, we declared a day of rest and only went in search of Autumnal goodies in the country. We got three small pumpkins, a bunch of apples (lots of less common ones), some sugarless apple butter, and apple cider. Yum! Then, with our two freshly baked apple sticks (like long thin turnovers), we got back in the car and drove past the sheep and goat and cow and people and cars and went home.
Today was a quick trip to the mall to get sweetie another dress shirt for The Wedding in LV. So he is set (even though he doesn't have a suit, he does have matching jacket/pants). Me, not so much, since all my nice clothes are black and I don't know if that's allowed.
At any rate, I'm going to go fret more now. :(
( 07:08 EH | melancholy. )Black is totally allowed. In fact that's my main quibble about my dress - it's white and not black. Otherwise I'd really like it. As it is I find it tolerable, and am vaguely amused by it.
I completely understand about the forgetting. And the worst - wanting to beat on your head and shake the info out - because the location of the item MUST be up there somewhere! I find when I stop looking for the thing I'm more apt to find it. Particularly when the item is very overdue/of no use anymore. Then I can find the thing easily.
Pisses me off majorly.
I'm sure the snake saw it coming.
"Oh dear, here we go again."
He'll be back. If cats have nine lives snakes have to have many many more. Think how often they get killed accidently or on purpose. I'm sure it's all in a days work for them by this point.
Yay on the black, because those two dresses (neither are solid black, in fact, one is autumn colored) pack very compactly and don't wrinkle. Shoes are an entirely different story, though. Sigh. I still need a wrist size, by the way...

I am SO annoyed with time zones in general.
