The director position at the Sheldon Museum in Haines, AK is open. Dammit. I love Haines. I've been to that museum and to the nearby Tlingit village (Klukwan) where we talked with the elders and learned of an amazing Hawaiian connection. I would love to live in Haines - it's where we witnessed grizzlies fighting over fishing holes and baby grizzlies peeking at us through the trees. The salary is about 20% less than I make now but I could catch my own salmon and halibut...Somehow, though, I don't think sweetie would be up for it. Too bad.
Well, it's always nice to dream of leading a simpler life.
