I went over to Smita's today for a "crafty" day. I was to work on some jewelry, she on a baby quilt (she's ALWAYS working on baby quilts - her friends procreate a lot). Of course, I didn't have quite the right beads and she was looking for any excuse to procrastinate, so no sooner do we get set up, then we went into Takoma Park for some quick shopping. I did find some sterling silver beads and findings...and some other cute things. ;) Then it was time for lunch at the redDog Cafe - salad and a "brown" pizza - gorgonzola, caramelized onions and walnuts. Finally, two hours later, we went back to "work." I managed to finish off one bracelet and two pairs of earrings (not much but whatever) and Smita had pretty much mapped out the components of the quilt. Somewhat productive. Then it was back home on the suicide-beltway.
So score one for the it's-a-good-idea-but-not-really camp.
