First things first
I'd like to welcome Kaimana to the world, born yesterday. He's as dark as his sister Sofie is light, apparantly!
More cat problems
Remember we recently had a problem with the cat peeing outside the litter box? Well, he stopped that but has begun to poop on the kitchen rug (on which he often spends most of his day (laying on the other end of the rug). We're beginning to think he's going a bit senile or getting some dementia. Except it doesn't really seem like that's true. He's got two litter boxes and the close one is clean but he still poops on the carpet.
Why Metro Sucks, Reason #4920753497830
Metro held me hostage for an hour and a half on Monday. I couldn't exit the parking lot. It clearly told me I had enough money on my card but none of the gates would let me out. Let me tell you someting obvious: this new parking system has major problems. I've had my SmartTrip card for over 3 years but Metro just instituted a card-only pay system so they could stop using people in the garages/lots. Which would explain why I could not get anyone to let me out - they have one person (un-marked, so you can't locate him easily) covering two parking lots and one garage - none of them close togother. The station manager was no help. He told me repeatedly that there was nothing he could do - that I would have to leave my car there. Oh my god, his lack of knowledge was astounding. He didn't have any number to call, he didn't know who was on duty in the lots, he didn't have any way of contacting anyone, he didn't have any suggestions, NOTHING. This is the second time I've met up with unhelpful station managers in a situation that should require smart thinking.
I didn't have to use Metro yesterday but I expect I'll have the same problem today when I try to exit. Metro lets me ride all I want but letting me out of the parking lot is a problem. Bastages.
So not only do they raise my costs nearly 40% in one year, but apparantly, I'm paying them MORE money and they're providing me with less services. Funny, sounds like my workplace.
Additional crap: of course, their "emergency number" didn't have any helpful people - it was routed to the customer service people who were no help whatsoever.
So Metro sucks yet again.
Work sucks
Our proposal was rejected and we've been told that we must meet with the head of Education to "discuss the problems in the format." Which is infuriating because we asked the head of Education and members of her team FOUR TIMES for feedback before we turned in the proposal. Not to mention that we asked others for feedback and they also never gave us any feedback but some of them were on the committee, so they suck.
Health Systems suck
Admittedly, I don't have too much of a problem with my insurance (yet - who knows what can happen in the future) but in the past few weeks, the doctor's office neglected to schedule one test when I went for others (at another office) so now I have to schedule that. And yesterday, they "forgot" to take enough blood from me. So now I have to go back to the lab. Grrrr.
Other suckage
There's lots of other crap going on right now and needless to say, I'm pretty stressed.
But at least I have a brand new nephew!! And a sweetie who keeps trying to calm me down. Good thing, both. :)
( 04:52 EH | pooty. reasons metro sucks. )Are people from the Metro system working in your dr's office? Or vice versa? That would explain a lot!
And congratulations on your aunthood! Again!
Photos?
And it is good to have a sweetie to comfort one.
Posted by: batty at 14.07.04 23:19Also - what do you think Cooper is trying to communicate? Or at least that's how I interpret out of litterbox deposits. The only time Becket's done that is when he wanted me to clean his litterbox. And he was very ashamed at having done it - he stole some piece of cardboard from somewhere and placed it ontop of the area.
Very weird.
Also happened years ago, in his kittenhood.
Poor Coop.
Posted by: batty at 15.07.04 20:08We have no idea. he's back to using the box now. ! That bit about Becket is so strange yet kind of endearing.
Posted by: bunny at 15.07.04 23:14Becket is indeed a strange little beastie.
And I was so ashamed at not having his litter cleaned and his polite little response to it that I've never done that again. Ok, well, there were a few times I forgot, but he's never done his little trick again either. And he was SO embarrassed about it when I was cleaning it to - he did that cat thing where they pretend they're ignoring what you're doing, even though they're in the same room, and it's obvious they're trying to watch you at the same time.
Congratulations on the arrival of your new nephew!
