Quickie wrap up

1. Sis is due any day - hopefully tomorrow! Baby boy may be named Kaimana.

2. We had corn on the cob yesterday and while eating, I popped the left side of my jaw. It hurts when I chew and when I laugh now.

3. I find it hilarious that many many folks cleaned this weekend. We did too. Lots of mopping. I also scraped off all the caulk from around the sink and re-caulked with a clear rubber silicone and took apart the faucet to clean it completely. I hadn't cleaned it thoroughly since we bought the house and it was so gross. Now the handles sparkle! Sweetie mopped the mildewy ceiling of the bathroom. I actually got on my hands and knees to scrub the tile. Blech. But it sure looks nice now! And Fantastick Oxy-whatever works really well.

4. Managed to start one project (painting a wooden storage rack in metallic stripes - blue, pearl blue, gold, silver, sterling, rose, plum, peridot, teal and black). If you don't look too closely, it looks very cool. Unfortunately, it's only 1/8 done. I have four more of these storage units to paint, too. I was going to make one a plaid design. I don't think so now. I think the others will be simpler with atomic, radiation and biohazard symbols.

5. I'm radioactive. Well, not really any more. I think. For a few days, though, I was.

6. I dislike my job. I want a new one. But I need the health insurance.

7. Saw Farenheit 9/11. Unfortunately, I was also getting over my cold and have a hair-trigger cough/gag reaction so I spent a lot of time leaving the theatre so I wouldn't bug the other 20 folks (it was the 10:10 am show) and ended up watching 45 minutes of it standing near the door.

8. We also watched Cold Mountain (pretty damn predictable and melodramatic) and The Cooler. Still to watch: Dirty Pretty Things.

9. Discovered that something keeps digging up my clematis. I'm down to two. I have no idea what is eating them. Surely not the coyotes? We know we have them in our area and it's very possible they and not fox are the "owners" of the droppings we find (once on the sidewalk and once on the deck). We haven't seen them, though. I do kind of wish this to happen: Laura Illige, chief ranger of Rock Creek Park, said that 'it's only a matter of time' before coyotes will be seen howling with Washington's famed monuments as a backdrop.

10. Wynken gave up the ghost. Blynken is all that is left from the original cory cat trio. The newer four seem to be doing really well and the two new female Siamese Fighting fish are feisty. They don't like any other fish so now they share a tank with a divider. Silly gals. The first betta still won't mate although her belly is so swollen with eggs it's transparant. ick.

Enough for now.

Argh! I was going to call you tonight but when I looked at my watch I remembered that although it's a reasonable hour out here you were already in bed!
I hate time zones.

1 - which translates as? Which reminds me that I ate at a Hawaiian restaurant on Sunday. But it was only vaguely islandy. At least it wasn't cheese islandy. More like surfer stuff really. Remind me to tell more.
2 - I fear corn on the cob. I eat and must immediately retire to the bathroom with floss. Jon makes lots of dishes with fresh corn which he cuts off the cob. Oh I love that man of mine. *glee*
3 - I cleaned today - does that count?
4 - plaids are difficult. Did you take before photos, oh crafty one?
5 - all the more reason I need to call.
6 - insurance is a lovely thing. And necessary.
7 - man I've done that "watch by the door" thing - I hate that. For me it's the dizzy/faint thing - but I haven't done that in a while, thankfully. The killer cough is evil. I just have the not as evil throat tickle - thus my Hall's addiction.
8 - I have no desire to see Cold Mountain. Yet I feel that I should. Am I wrong?
9 - And it's not squirrels? Squirrels are annoying like that.
10 - If you have betta babies will you get another tank? Will you have a Betta Plantation? No wait, that's dalmation plantation, and there's nothing that rhymes with betta....

Whew.
I like the numbering thing. Makes commenting easier.

I can't get my photobat hooha to work and Jon is asleep and therefore I can't ask him. So I suppose I should go to bed, huh?
